CINDY WALKER, probably one of the best loved song writers of our time and certainly one of the best known, and a person I had rather talk with then Abraham Lincoln, 'course we never talked a lot with old Abe but we would have had he not croaked.

Anyway we received a nice fax the other day from our good friend Dann Hansen in Denmark, and he said he had just received a nice C.D. from Stu Phillips who he thought had been dead for a long time, the title song being "BLUE CANADIAN ROCKIES" which is a Cindy Walker song and he was telling me how great he thought it was.

I sent him a fax and thanked him for playing it and told him what a nice lady Ms. Walker was, and a short while ago we called Ms. Walker and told her he had received it, five minutes after we called her Dann Hansen calls from Denmark and tells me again how much he liked it and was going to feature it again on an up-coming show.

We are working out something now that all of the music from the Bradley Brother's catalog can be bought in Denmark and other countries, it is not a simple thing to do, most of the radio stations in other countries are not privately owned but owned by the city or the state and do not and can not accept commercial advertising .

So with the help of Dann Hansen and others we are working to put together our own show to be re-broadcast in those countries, we will only be playing "CLASSIC COUNTRY MUSIC" and it will be the only way we can control what is sold, there is so much boot-leg stuff on the market now days that half the stuff an artist does he or she never sees a penny of it.

We are not looking for free C.D's or anything else but if you are one of the Classic artists of yesteryear and have something new out or a re-release of your greatest hits or something and tell us where to buy them we'll go buy them, or it, or what ever you got, but we can't buy anything if we don't know you have it.

Back to Cindy Walker, someone ask her why she never married, she said she had rather write than cook, can't blame her for that, we call her now and then and tell her about some good road kill we have just fixed for supper, I think we about got her ready to start cookin', she knows I love that road kill bear, and if you soak a skunk long enough in prune juice, wow, have you got a good supper, and if you soak that bugger long enough in prune juice you can run all the way to Denmark.

NOW AND THEN someone comes along that is a real talent, a really funny person and someone that is a real showman, in this case it is DON HINSON, you might call him "HARLEY BREADSACKER" or maybe even one of the other characters he does like The Reverend Herman Ginkfingdingler, and he does some Johnny Cash that will put you on the floor or some Willie Nelson and he carries a little guitar with him that he can't play, but the case has got a lot of road stickers on it so you'll know where he's been.

Eddie Dean calls him one of the most talented people he has ever had the pleasure of knowing and when they talk before Eddie ever says hello to him he says "Let's Do A Show" and that would about sum up how much Eddie thinks of Don Hinson, then they shake hands and hug and stuff like that.

Just a few of the people Hinson has opened for include, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, George Strait, Hank Williams Jr., Ricky Skaggs, Bobby Bare, Buck Owens The Drifters, The Coasters, Conway Twitty,The Shirelles and the list goes on and on, He has been in the movies done many, many T.V. Shows and had the number one radio show in Southern California with his "Down Home Country" show on K.L.A.C. radio the number one country station in the L.A. area and was also the host of the T.V. Show out of Branson, Mo. called "Steppin Out" along with the "Breakfast Show" in Branson where he was better know as "HARLEY BREADSACKER"

Don Hinson's album on Capitol Records was a collection of Monster songs and with him doing impressions of Boris Karloff, Dean Martin and Peter Lorre singing, Hinson has recorded for other labels but this one is still available in case you want to buy a couple dozen of them.

Don Hinson M.C'd a standing room only Country Show in Las Vegas just a short while back, where talent was flown in from all over the U.S., this was the first time that those in charge of the show had ever seen Don Hinson work and to tell the truth did not know Don Hinson from apple butter, they just needed someone to fill that space, we mentioned we knew someone and the attitude was, well bring him on, we have to have somebody m.c. this thing the other guy got sick. These are their words not mine, "The best thing that could have happened to our show is, the other guy couldn't make it" Since then they have called at least six times asking if Don Hinson will agree to do the show again this year.

Even though Don Hinson closes his Reverend Herman Ginkfingdingler portion of his show with the following poem, it is one maybe we should all recite now and then, and it goes like this EVERY TIME I PASS A CHURCH, I STOP AND PAY A VISIT. THAT WAY WHEN I'M CARRIED IN, THE LORD WON'T ASK, "WHO IS IT ?".

Say if a person was to go have a nip of wine after going to church one Sunday and the preacher was "The Reverend Herman Ginkfingdingler" and one of the boys at the bar said "who did you say the preacher was"?. wonder if they would believe you ?.

HANK THOMPSON ,will be on the road very shortly and I am sure he will be promoting his new album but if you are a real Hank Thompson fan he will never get away with out singing those great classics.

Don't forget the new "Hank Thompson and Friends" album that we told you about last week, and never forget the great Hank Thompson Classic albums we have in our catalog. (punch it up)

NOW- we have Cal Smith covered in Florida next month and Hank Thompson covered from this month to July in several different states. ****GO SEE THEM****

Ray Reed was on his way home from seeing a show with Tommy Allsup in Elko, Nevada a week ago Tuesday we think it was, Ray lived in Ruidoso, New Mexico and like we said was on his way home when he stopped for gas, he filled up his tank and went in and paid the girl behind the counter, got back in his truck but never went any where, the girl noticing that his truck never moved went out to see what was wrong. Ray Reed was slumped over his steering wheel dead, Ray had taken the short way home and the old cowboy had cashed in.

We talked with Ray many times over the past few months, he would call and tell us about something going on in a little town he was mighty proud of- Ruidoso, New Mexico, he told us about the great crowd that showed up for Cindy Walker days October the 9th of this past year and he told us a lot about the "MUSEUM of the HORSE" in Ruidoso a place where Ray spent a lot of his time, and he was especially proud of the fact that Cindy Walker took the time to write a song about his town, and the beautiful music sheet it was presented on with the great Leon Raush and Rich O'Brien on the cover, when Miss Walker picked up her pen, a song was born, "RUIDOSO"

Ray Reed was a cowboy's cowboy, he had done it all from Hollywood where he was offered a singing contract, movie contracts and about everything else, but Ray turned it down because he did not feel at home with a bunch of music that did not belong in a cowboy song, and he would tell you so in no un-certain terms, in fact Ray Reed had to be respected if for nothing else the fact that he called a spade a spade and if the shoe fits, wear it.

I don't know why people that really care about God, Country and America and good things and love people and care about friends, go like they do when people live to be a hundred and don't give a hoot about anything and never will, I'll have to ask God about that when I get there.

But we do know this, if Ray had to go at this time, we are thankful for the fact he didn't lay in a bed for months in pain and I don't think Ray would have ever wanted to just lay there and have people wait on him.

So ride slow cowboy and we'll catch up down the way.
